On December 10th 2024, the Charity Commission of the UK approved the establishment of a new charity, the Foundation for Evolution and Mental Health. I am the proud founding chair, with five accompanying founding trustees, all psychiatrists (Riadh Abed, Paul St-John Smith, Annie Swanepoel, Tom Carpenter and Pierpaolo Merola).

The Objects of the charity are stated as: THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL (PARTICULARLY AMONGST SCIENTISTS AND CLINICIANS) IN THE FIELD OF EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHIATRY AND RELATED SUBJECTS AND TO PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT RESEARCH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN ALL ASPECTS OF EVOLUTIONARY PSYCHIATRY INCLUDING EMPIRICAL AND THEORETICAL WORK AND TO DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
